There’s been a lot of studies recently into a new form of hormone therapy. For men in Malibu, these studies give new hope for those suffering from the deleterious effects of middle age.

By that I mean that us middle-aged men tend to have certain changes in our attitudes and our bodies that can be hard on our self-esteem. We get pudgy, we lose muscle definition and muscle mass, we get tired more easily — but just as importantly, we lose our ‘killer edge’ and we tend to be less driven to get the things we want, sex included. Some of us even suffer from impotence.

Fortunately, we have a new hope: hormone therapy. Malibu medical practitioners have finally joined the ranks of those willing to administer Human Growth Hormone, or HGH, to man who believe they may be experiencing hormone deficiency, sometimes called ‘premature andropause’.

HGH does a whole host of things to a human body. As you might have guessed from the name, it helps you grow, but it also encourages a full-grown body to maintain itself in the same fashion that a younger body does naturally. Under HGH therapy, your body will produce thicker, fuller hair; firmer, less wrinkly skin; larger, better defined muscles; and of course strong, healthy erections.

Equally importantly, your attitude will benefit as well. HGH boosts the entire endocrine system, encouraging the production of hormones that balance out your mood and leave you feeling energized and capable. Men who have lost that ‘killer instinct’ find that it has returned — and their sex drive has returned with it.

Of course, there is a dark side, albiet rare. Some men find that HGH doesn’t just encourage the production of testosterone, but of estrogen as well. Those rare men can suffer from some strange side-effects such as the growth of breasts! Others complain that their joints aren’t able to reinvigorate themselves as easily as their muscles are, and they have joint aches and sprain easily.

Fortunately, most of these cases are the extremes — people who use too much HGH or use it very late in life. Most of Malibu’s midlife male population can benefit hugely from hormone therapy — and should.
